L Magazine Article
Mark Schwaninger, Editor of Lincoln’s Lifestyle Magazine did a wonderful article about the Guild in the March 2017 edition of his paper. He had pictures of the gallery committee, Jan Blank, Steen Lundberg and Jody Stauch . He also featured the musical group for that evening August Moon. He gave a nice explanation of our gallery along with Steen and Jody’s business “Out of the Box”. Thank you to Mark and hope that he will be back for another “Fourth Friday Event”.

ANAC PREQUALIFYING ART SHOW
We were a bit disappointed that more LAG members didn’t participate in this show as we had only 18 entries, 2 of which were sculptures. It will be up until the end of March in the Mattress store above OUT OF THE BOX. Our judge was ANAC president/ Pam Hynek, from Fremont. She did a great job with the critiques, and stayed for awhile in the afternoon to answer questions.
Because of the size of our membership, we could have sent 19 pieces to the ANAC convention in June this year, which will be held in York. Even though there are no monetary awards at the local level (there are some at the State Convention), the exposure your art work receives is worth more than most awards. An added plus is that if you receive an Award of Excellence at the ANAC show for 5 years (which doesn’t have to be in a row), you are considered a “SIGNATURE MEMBER”, and are allowed to put the letters ANAC on all of your pieces from then on. It’s quite an honor and accomplishment! Remember that all members can enter our club shows, you do not have to be a gallery member. Hope you make the effort to enter more of our shows and demonstrate what a strong guild we have.
