Some of these items are available for members to use free of charge or for a low rate to replace material. Others require a small deposit to make sure that they are returned in good working order.

The items available for checkout are: paper cutter, mat cutter, shrink wrap machine, folding chairs, easels, and a set of display panels.

If you are interested in using any of these LAG items, contact the President so they can let you know what the charges are on each item. Also, notify Donna Pozehl who has a key and lives close to Big Red, 402-435-0172. You will need to sign them out and back in.

OCTOBER FOURTH FRIDAY

Karen Schneider was our featured artist and she filled the special area with her many lovely landscape and animal paintings.  Jan Blank decorated the food table with pumpkins and fall foliage, and the music was quite unique.   The Lincoln Early Music Consort was a chamber ensemble that played music from before 1750 on very early instruments.  At one time, all five were playing wooden horns.  The turn out wasn’t great that night–so, in the future, we all need to encourage our friends and neighbors to come, and most importantly, be there ourselves.

Monthly Meeting: November 3, 2015

The membership voted to retain the gift exchange for our Chinese New Year’s Celebration.  If you want to participate, bring an art-related gift that is wrapped, and costs no more than $20.  Watch your e mails for further information.

Jan Blank gave a program on oil paintings at the November meeting.  She passed out a packet of papers that were meant to encourage people in their art endeavors and a “gripper” to help open stuck paint tubes and jars.  She did some demonstrating of one way to begin an oil painting (there are many ways) and showed some of her own artwork to demonstrate her talk.  Her workshop was filled with practical tips and interesting “tricks” that could facilitate oil painting.  Feedback was good in that members felt they could use the information.

Kudos

Thank you to Julie Childers for getting LAG a 10% discount on any item at JoAnn’s.  You will need to show your membership card to receive the discount.

Kudos to Julie Childers, Linda Gale, and Greg Sparling for volunteering to chair our Fall/Winter Show. Thank you so much. Without your help we would not be having a show.
