Hosts for First Friday

We need people to volunteer to host our First Friday events.  These occur from 6 – 8 the first Friday of each month.  September, October and November will be extremely important as the LUX will be having a special First Friday event celebrating their mural artists, October will be our Fall Show and we want to be on hand at both the LUX and our gallery as we send viewers across the street as an extension of our LUX show, and November will be the start of our Veterans Show and anticipate outside artists that participated in the show to come in that evening for the kick off .  Contact Kirk, or let us know at the September meeting.  Janet Fraley is hosting in September.

LAG Officers

We are ending the official year for LAG and we need to start thinking about future positions of leadership.  To make any organization work everyone needs to take part, either as an officer or a committee chairman.  We will have our Christmas Party at the end of the year and at that time we will renew the 2022 memberships and vote on new officers.  Our bylaws state that members cannot hold an office for more than two consecutive years, so this year we are looking for:

President

2 Vice-Presidents

Secretary

If you are interested in any of these positions, please let Kirk know, so he can create a ballot for December.

Lois Smith Workshop

The August 21 workshop was cancelled due to lack of registrations, but has been rescheduled for October 23.  Members and non members need to register promptly so that the instructor can plan accordingly.

Vote taken

A discussion and vote will be taken at the Tuesday September 14 LAG meeting to decide if we wish to continue with a gallery setting.  November will be the end of the one year rental agreement.  If you cannot attend the meeting, please let someone know from the Guild your feelings about future rental of the gallery space.

Emerge and Splurge at the LUX

  • Lux is promoting the area around University Place by creating a passport program from September 5 – September 18.
  • We will be participating by stamping passports from people visiting the gallery AND the creation of a gift basket for the LUX to donate for a prize.
  • Bring any small items to donate and put in the basket at the gallery prior to Change Day September 1.  Items might include, notecards, jewelry items, small paintings, sketchbooks, drawing utensils, gift cards etc.
