Presidential Thoughts

Hi folks!

I would like to thank Carmen for her hard work and dedication to the LAG, and taking the position of ANAC officer and Show co-chairmanship!  I would also like to thank the other officers for their continuing service to the Guild and its membership!

We have some great upcoming meetings and shows, and would encourage all members to come and participate in them.  It’s a great way to network with other artists as well as promoting yourself and the LAG.

Do we have folks that like to do figure drawing?  If so there is a group who meets each Wednesday at the LUX from 6:30 till 9:00 p.m.  Tables, chairs, drawing boards and easels are supplied.  Bring the media you like to work in and hone your figure drawing skills!  Cost is $12 for the evening.  The model will be nude.  Check it out!  It will continue till March 26.

Looking forward to meeting and leading the Guild for 2019!

Thanks so much.

See you at the March meeting!

There will be a first Friday event on March 1st for our LAG spring show at the Lux Gallery upstairs in their community gallery. Hope all can get out to support this show. New LAG Website

As you may have seen in the last newsletter or heard at the February meeting, I have volunteered to manage the LAG website. I am a new member, but I have several years worth of experience in web development, design, and management. I am very excited to bring my expertise in this area to help the Guild!

Over the last couple of months, I have been working on redesigning the site. I’m excited to say the new website is scheduled to launch on March 1. The site will still be located at the same address: LincolnArtistsGuild.org. The new site will have an updated look and feel, updated content, and some new features. There is one in particular that I want to make sure everyone is aware of and able to access:
  • A member-only page will be added full of downloadable resources, including a current membership list, promotional resources, show forms, and gallery rules. A link to this page will be accessible from the right side of the site footer. Because these resources are intended specifically for current members, the page is password protected. The password is: LAGforART
Moving forward, if you have any questions about the new site or new content to add to the site, feel free to email me at: ddewees8191@gmail.com.

Facebook Designer

Anyone interested in manning the Facebook page for the Guild?  Jane Chesnut has been keeping our Facebook page up to date, but she would like to step down after doing it for several years.  She will continue for this year, but if you are interested, contact her and she will talk with you and let you see what she is doing.  Computer skills necessary of course and knowledgeable about Facebook.    Carmen

March LAG Meeting Activity

We hope you will join us for a creative journey on Tuesday March 5th. Please bring any dry media(s) you like to use: pencil, ink, marker, charcoal, pastel, etc. Lynette Fast will facilitate a card making activity. Cards will be donated to LAG for guild business.
