LAG Show Rules

  • Work must be ready to hang; screw eyes and wires are required on flat pieces.  No saw tooth hangers.  No glass on work for ANAC show except for pastels as per the ANAC competition rules.
  • Work must be dry!!  Unframed canvas may be hung if the sides are painted extending the picture and NO staples showing.
  • Class work or privately supervised work is not eligible for entry.  Work must be original.  Copies of other artwork or from copyrighted photos are not eligible.
  • No work may be removed from a show in progress.   Work must be submitted and picked up at the specified times.  Those failing to pick up their work will incur a handling/storage charge of $5 per piece for moving and storing the work.  The Guild is not responsible for damage or loss when artwork is left behind.
  • Work cannot be entered more than once in either the LAG”s Spring or Fall Shows-that is once in either one, not once in both.  The same entry can be entered in the ANAC show.
  • Work for the Spring, Fall and ANAC shows must have been created within the past 2 years.
  • Artist’s name, title of piece, medium, phone number and price needs to be on a card attached to the back of the artwork.
  • The show chair(s) have the right to refuse artwork that is not prepared or labeled for the show properly.
  • The judge’s decision are final for all LAG shows.
  • Each show should be a fun opportunity for all LAG members to have their work reviewed and appreciated by the public!

September Member Meeting Program: Fall Show Critique

Members may bring two finished or unfinished works. Joan Phelan will Critique Fall Show works using Reading Art with Visual Thinking Skills. Joan is a retired Lincoln Public Schools Art Educator and currently works as a studio artist. She is a member of Noyes Art Gallery and will facilitate a critique using Visual Thinking Skills. https://vtshome.org/

Fall Show

Fall Show Dates & Times:

  1.  Entry Forms (bottom of newsletter) send to Ethel Mount ASAP.
  2. Drop off work at Lux WEDNESDAY October 2 from 11:00 till 1:00 (note new day)
  3. Reception 4-8 p.m. Friday October 4 at LUX
    1. LAG members may vote for favorite Friday evening only.
    2. Judge will be present all evening to visit.
    3. Bring refreshments (must be presentation ready – spoons, tongs, tray or platter)

Fourth of July Show

Congratulations to Don Duitsman for having his work “Beauty of Differences” selected as the Peoples Choice favorite during our Fourth of July Show in Seward.  He will have the opportunity now to have a one man show during the month of September or October of next year.  Way to go Don.  Thanks for representing the Lincoln Artists’ Guild with your participation.  Carmen Stineman
