October Critique

The October LAG Program was our fall critique, and we were appreciative of having Deb Monfelt preside over our discussions of various art work provided by the members.  She led the group through various stages of producing the works, how to improve on already quality works and stressed that just the joy of creating was important.  The members were treated to various media including “Cardboard”?  Thank you Deb.  Thanks also to Lynette for arranging our program.

Volunteer

The LAG Gallery still needs volunteers to fill out their monthly schedule.  If everyone in the Lincoln Artists’ Guild would volunteer to help out at the gallery just one three hour shift each month we could cover all the days we are open.  These can be either showing members or non showing members.

Please contact Lynette about working some hours in the gallery.  (lynettefast@gmail.com    or   402 318 8517)

It’s fun, easy, relaxing, has WiFi access, music, and various art books to peruse.  You may also work on small art projects.  Bring a friend along.  No credit cards to handle, can teach  you in 5 minutes everything you need to know.

Kirk Kuenzie, LAG President.

First Friday

October 1 is the first Friday of the month, and with our Fall Show opening that day, we need volunteers to host at both the LUX and our gallery. Minimum of two for each place is ideal. We will not host snacks at the LUX but we can do something at the Gallery. Contact Kirk (kuenzitoons@gmail.com or 402 613 5323) Members participating in the show, this is your chance to help out.

October Change Day

The change day for the gallery will be TUESDAY September 28, from 11-12 (Note the new day and time).  Want a fresh new look for the First Friday on the 1st.  If you can’t get your work there that day, make arrangements to bring in at the end of the day the previous Saturday.  ((Sept 25).  It was determined that it was just too busy to change out while the gallery was open to the public.

End of Year

We are coming up on the end of the year for LAG.  It has been a tumultuous 2021, with Covid, starting a new gallery, and just getting our feet back on the ground.  Thank you to all that have helped out.  It has been 101 years that the Guild has been in existence, and it is our hope that we continue on this journey with great people who stretch their imaginations and enjoy the act of creativity.  It was decided at the last meeting that we will continue renting space for our gallery for another year.  At the end of 2022, we will again evaluate if it is a viable enterprise.

Our December meeting will be the culmination of our year with a potluck supper.  We will renew memberships,  select new officers, have a gift exchange (optional) and games.  More information to follow on date, time and particulars.  Carmen Stineman
