Havelock Car Show

Sunday September 8th, the main street of Havelock will again be filled with 250 or more awesome cars for you to check out.  This is the 38th annual car show and if you have not ever attended, this is the year.  The Lincoln Artists’ Guild will again be setting up to showcase our wares and provide an artistic flair to the occasion.  The club needs as many people as possible to hang out and help.  Time of set up will be 8:30 a.m. and take down will be 3:00 p.m.  This year will have an added food stand, tended by the Knights of Columbus with 100% of their proceeds donated to St. Gianna Women’s Homes.  There will also be a silent auction with all donations to benefit the Women’s Home.  If anyone is interested in donating a painting, or art work, here is the place.  We will have our usual booth with panels so you can bring some art work to sell.  Last year we had tables with wares and I hope that you will again participate.  I will do face painting, but could use some help in that area.  Kirk will do caricatures in the morning only, but anyone else, let me know.  If you have an awning cover, that is very helpful too.  Call me with an idea, suggestion, or volunteer by August 15.

August Member Program

“Lori Elliott-Bartle is a painter and printmaker inspired by big skies and open landscapes, travel and daily life. She simplifies shapes, saturates with color and highlights with contrast. Much of her work focuses abstractly on the prairie. Mixing oil paint and softened beeswax allows her to create paintings that hold depth, complexity and texture, some of the same qualities about the prairie that she appreciates. Lori will share her process in a hands on activity.
