Masters to Masters Exhibit and Open House

Thirteen of the Masters’ paintings by LAG members are hanging in the Bennett Martin library and will be transferred to the State Office Bldg. on Sept. 9th.  They will be on display there until Sept. 27 and need to be picked up before 3:00 p.m. that day.  All members are invited to the Sept. 6th open house at the library on the first Friday walk from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.  Refreshments will be served

September LAG Meeting

The next LAG meeting is Sept. 3 at 7:00 p.m. at Capitol City Christian Church.  The program will be headed by Bonnie Sittig and assisted by several other members.  She will show a demonstration on using CitraSolv to make beautiful and unusual pictures.  CitrSolv is a natural cleaner and degreaser in concentrate form that can be used  to dissolve and transfer ink on magazines to make unique and abstract designs.  The paper can then be used for collage work or to paint on.  Please bring some form of ink drawing or painting tools.  Acrylic Ink or alcohol ink and small brushes are fine.  Ink pens and markers will also work. Q-tips or colored pencils may come in handy. Come and learn another form of doing art.

Officers and Committee Members for 2014

It is that time of year again.  The Nominating Committee will be contacting you to see if you are interested in chairing or helping out with any of LAG’s  positions.  Join the team and get involved!

If you currently are an officer,  a committee chairperson or a committee member and wish to continue for next year, please let a Board Member know.  We would love to have you all back for another year.

It takes all of us to make this organization work, so please consider volunteering.

Show Chair Needed

We are still in need of a chairperson for the November LAG Fall Show.  A Judge is being found and the State Office Building is reserved.   You will not have to do this by yourself.  We have made a few sales through this venue and can hope sales will get even better.   The LAG Fall Show needs someone who is available most of the day Friday, November 1st.  Members’ artwork will be dropped off in the morning and checked in, followed by hanging and judging in the afternoon.  Ribbons will be hung and winners notified.  We welcome anyone who is interested in helping with or chairing this event.

August Meeting Review

The August LAG outdoor meeting at Marilyn and Jim Jensen’s home looked like it was going to be a very humid and hot evening but as eleven members gathered in their shady backyard, the evening began to cool.  Everyone enjoyed the beauty of the water and watched the muskrat swim around building a nest as they painted or photographed their area of interest.  Rita Wrenholt provided refreshments.
