Seward Show Invite June/July 2016

Lincoln Artists’ Guild has been invited to show again in Seward during June and July 2016!! It is a great way to get your work out into another community. There have been sales in the past and a People’s Choice Award is given each year. The top winner is invited by the Seward Arts Council to do a solo show in the following year.

Hundreds of people come through the Seward Civic Center during June and July. This will be the guild’s 9th year of celebrating our creativity with the community of Seward. It is the only gallery where we have shown, in which they provide insurance for the art on display.

The theme will be announced later in the year. HINT…the theme is usually patriotic since the show goes on during the City of Seward’s 4th of July celebration! So, you might as well get started creating art that maybe includes red, white, & blue, honors those that help preserve our freedom, fireworks, apple pie, baseball, All-American, etc…

Encourage an artist friend to collaborate with you in your piece for the show, too! That could be fun! Also, 2-D and 3-D pieces are welcome. Please follow gallery hanging guidelines such as 2-D work needs to be wire hung, no saw tooth brackets. The edges of wrapped canvas need to be painted.  Please see the gallery guidelines the guild has or the ANAC rules for hanging art and for 3-D guidelines. You may find the guidelines in your guild handbook.

Usually we set up in the evening during the first week of June and take down the show at the end of July. There is no entry fee. There is a $2 fee per piece to help pay for gas and hanging of the art if you are not able to drive to Seward nor help with the hanging of the art. That helps curb the cost for those driving, as well as using their time and elbow grease to get the show hung/taken down, etc… It is much appreciated.

If you have any questions, contact Julie Lemons at jewelslemons@yahoo.com or 402-570-9476.
