April Meeting

We will be joining Chuck Schroeder as he instructs us in landscape art. Chuck is an Eagle Nebraska artist who has had many years of instruction with recognized artists in Taos, New Mexico. Chuck is also well known for his portrait paintings and has done a number of major commissioned portrait paintings for clients in states from coast to coast. His work reflects the beautiful character of people and places.

Chuck is dedicated to the life of an artist as well as a career as CEO of a major industry as well. In addition, he is a competitive horseman, rancher, founder of several organizations, etc.

Members are encouraged to bring their sketchbooks so they can sketch along with Chuck.
We will be meeting at the Sheridan Lutheran Church, 6955 Old Cheney Road, in room 646.  Remember to enter the northwest door #4.  Time is from 6:30 – 8:30 on Tuesday April 9.

Seward Fourth of July Show

We are again invited to participate in the Seward Fourth of July celebration with an art show of our club’s work.  Due to construction of the Langworthy Center, the show this year (2024) will be held at the Red Path Gallery in Seward.  This gallery is right on the square where the festivities are located for this great summer event.  It will be a great opportunity for our members to showcase their work.  There are some changes to our show.   First of all, due to size limitations, we will only be able to show 20 pieces, and those cannot be exceedingly large.  There will also be a $10 entry fee for each piece.  In return, we may price and sell our work with a 30% commission going to the Red Path Gallery.  The gallery is charging a rental fee of $250 for each month and the Seward Arts Council is picking up that portion of the show.  At this time we will only be showing June and July, and Susan Harris, who was the Peoples Choice award winner last year, will be having a solo show in August.   There will be an artist reception one weekend and all artists in the show will be encouraged to attend if possible.   We will be signing up pieces at our April meeting.    Pam Apley is the chairman of this event if you have any questions?
