Presidential Notes !

Greetings members!

Congratulations to those members and all that participated in the recent ANAC qualifying show.  It was a great turnout both in work and visitors to the Lux gallery.

Looking forward to seeing the same amount and caliber of work for the upcoming Seward show.

See you all at the next meeting!

Wall Gallery News

This should be old news to everyone, but just in case you have not heard, LAG has lost our hanging space at Against the Wall Gallery. John had a chance to sell his building and is in the process of making plans for closing the deal. I checked yesterday and all but one LAG artist had picked up their art. We are thankful to John for providing us a great place to hang our art and wish him well. Thanks to all the LAG artists who gave of their time and energy for making a place to show our art possible. Already I am missing not having a place to show our art. At our next Tuesday regular guild meeting we will be discussing more about our handling of gallery members paid dues. Best wishes, Will Rennick

Seward 4th of July Show

Summer is almost here!  Well, almost.  Time to get ready for the Seward Fourth of July show held during June and July.  The theme for this show is “Explosion of Color” selected by the guild members at the April meeting.  More information will be coming, but this way everyone can get started on one or two pieces.  The visitors to the show will vote for their favorite and that artist will get to have a solo show of their own the following year.  There will be no cost (other than donating toward gas for the person taking the work to Seward and hanging for you).  Carmen Stineman

Correspondence

If you know of someone that deserves a note of gratitude, sympathy, congratulations, etc., please let Janet Fraley know.  She is sending out cards when appropriate, but many times she does not know everything going on, so she needs everyone in the guild to help out.  If you know someone who needs a card, let her know.  jntfraley@gmail.com, or 402-489-7006

April Meeting

What a great program at our April LAG meeting.  Jeri Kuhn from Beatrice gave us a great lesson on paper sculpture.  We were all so into the hands on, that we almost didn’t get out of the meeting by the 9:00 deadline.  Lots of us took home our uncompleted fish, but many had a picture of the final product so we could finish.  If anyone has questions, or would just like to get in contact with Jeri, her email is…….jerijune@live.com
