JUNE 26th FEATURED ARTIST IS DONNA POZEHL

Our Featured Artist for the 4th Friday Art and Music Series at Out of the Box from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on June 26th is Donna Pozehl. Donna is a member of the Lincoln Artists’ Guild and served as the 2nd Vice President in 2010 and on the Finance Committee in 2012.  In 2013 and 2014 she served on the Gallery Committee and was the President of the Guild.  This year she is still on the Gallery Committee and on the Advisory Board.

She says, “In my work I hope to give visual pleasure and the feeling of being calm and peaceful.”

Her artistic journey began with a few College Art Courses at the Columbus Community College and private lessons.   After her move to Lincoln, she joined the Lincoln Artists’ Guild in 2008 where her learning journey continued at each meeting, taking more classes and attending workshops.

Donna enjoys the challenge of layering the paint of an abstract painting and experimenting with a variation of colors and lines.  She welcomes you to contact her with any questions about a painting.   402-435-0172 or dmae3@hotmail.com

We know of a few of you that make jewelry.  If you do and would like to be included, please let one of the Gallery Committee members know.

Questions directed to the Owners and employees of Out of the Box

If you have questions about anything pertaining to the LAG Gallery, please do not ask the owners or employees of Out the Box about what you should do and do not expect them to hang or tag your work for you. You need to speak to one of the Gallery Committee members about any question you may have or anything you think you want to do.

To get approval to show your work, you need to get Jody’s (Store owner) approval. Do not bring your work to the Store for her to see. If you do and it is not a change date, you will have to take it home. You can email a few pictures of your work to her or take pictures of your work and take them to her to see. If you leave them there, they may not get hung and will be stored in the back room. If you want to hang any additional work after the change date, it must be approved by the Gallery Committee.

Lag Judged Shows

Volunteers and need to do the LAG Shows.
We are in need of members to take over doing the LAG judged shows including the ANAC Show. We are going back to the way it used to be. The Gallery Committee will no longer be in charge of the shows. Please volunteer. Ask your member friends to do this with you. It is fun working with the judges, you can learn a lot.

If we don’t get some volunteers there might not be any further shows.
Please call one of the Board members and let them know you would like to be part of this.

APRIL 4TH FRIDAY A BIG SUCCESS

The April 4th Friday event on the 24th was another great success.  Reida Wrenholt was the featured artist–showing 2-dimensional work as well as many of her dolls, both soft and hard sculptures.  She also did “Quick Draw” portraits, along with her sister Wanda Medina, for anyone willing to sit for a while.  It was lots of fun, and the drawings were great!  (Perhaps she has a financial future at the Mall??)

The music was the ALLIGATOR STRING CHOIR—4 gals playing acoustic strings and singing a fun variety of tunes.  They seemed to be having as much fun as the audience!

Between 5 and 6 PM–before the music started–there were groups of people meandering around both floors.  They were interested in the Art as much as the furniture ,etc.

We had enough food, as there was some left at the end, but it seems to be the same few people supplying the food every time!  Please bring food for our gallery events, even if you won’t be able to stay.

Thanks from the gallery committee!
