Gallery Notes

Greetings LAG Members,

I am addressing all current members of the Lincoln Artists’ Guild.

We, as a guild, have a great opportunity to have our own gallery once again, and a meeting space in which we can show and grow the Guild with new members and events.  Several years ago money was donated for the specific purpose of creating and maintaining a gallery.  We are now putting that money to use.

The board is in favor of this new location which includes gallery space and meeting space as well as having a storage space thus freeing up rent to both Big Red Storage and the Church.

The address is 2634 North 48th Street, Suites 300 and 400.  The new location is in historic UNI place, next to Urban Legends.  There are area shops and restaurants nearby as well as being just up the street from the LUX Art Gallery and Studios.  The building is completely handicap accessible, with restrooms and kitchen available to the Guild.  The plan is to use two adjoining spaces, each with ample space for displaying.  Additional wall space in the common areas will also be available.

Moving to this new location, will allow the Guild to hold it’s business meeting, monthly meetings, and any workshops, in one location plus additional space is available in the Tai Chi space in Suite 100, courtesy of The Spirit Wind Tai Chi school if needed.

This is a great opportunity for the Guild and it’s members, but it going to take ALL members to participate in the new space by hosting, attending, and supporting shows and events through the year.  The space will allow the Guild to have more events throughout the year, as well as possible workshops, sales, new members, and overall greater exposure to the Lincoln Arts Community.

More information and details will follow.  Please be sure to attend the November 3, 2020 meeting.  The first part of the meeting will take place at the Noyes Gallery downtown on 9th street (park on the north side of the building and enter the front door on the east) Note time change:  begins at 6:30 not 7:00 and runs until 8:00.  Second part of the meeting will be at the new gallery from 8:30 till 9 or 10, so members can view the new gallery space and all the potential it has to offer!  Enter on the 48th street side.  Attend either or both.  Wear your masks!

Thanks so much,

Kirk Kuenzi
