Kuddos and Applause

Please let any of the officers know about news worthy events that LAG members are involved in. Attending a workshop/show, visiting a gallery, setting up a show, awards, meeting of artist groups, etc. Send a picture along with info and we will create an eye catching FB page. We are trying to boost our FB presence with all sorts of things LAG related. Letting everyone know what is going on in our art world, and maybe interest someone new to see what we are about and possible join.

Kennedy.

April Program

Tuesday April 11 at 7:00 is our monthly meeting. Topic is “Card Making”. We will be creating cards for our secretary to use throughout the year for correspondence. Cards will be provided, but you need to bring media of your choice, and ideas that you might want to do. We will also have a chance to just sit and talk about art, bring in a tool or book that you have that you want to share with the group or a piece your working on that you want help with.

We will also be trading art cards this evening. Bring any you wish to add to the trade table. We will do this again in several months if successful.

ATTENTION: There is major utility work going on in front of the Tai Chi Studio. Please plan additional time to arrive. You may have to go a couple of blocks out of your way to get into the back parking lot.

Production Artist Wanted

Keri Kriston works for Vahallan Papers which create handmade luxury wallpaper and wall coverings and they are in need of help. She said that they create textures and painting techniques on individual sheets of paper and if that is something that may interest you, they will train. Check out their website….Vahallan Papers, Inc.

Trinity Fine Arts Festival

Participation appears to be very good as far as acceptance letters went from the chairmen of the festival. Thank you to everyone who is planning on showing. This gives great exposure for our club. We will be providing several free membership drawings during the day, and Kirk is going to be doing his caricatures. More information will be presented at the April meeting so we can provide everyone with times, requirements, etc.

Spring Show

We had a great show again this year! 32 entries. Best of Show & People’s Choice awards both went to Keri Kriston with her piece “Miss A” The fall show will be held in November at the LUX, mark your calendars.

The Seward Show will be held this summer and the theme is “Celebrating Summer Fun in Nebraska”. Hopefully we will have good participation, with as many as three pieces from each artist if so desired. This is a great chance for you to get your work out and be seen by many people and it doesn’t cost you a thing. Wow! Can’t beat that. Only stipulation as to theme is that it must be family friendly and of a non- political nature. There will be a “People’s Choice” voted on by attendees during the summer, and that winner will have the opportunity to host a one-person show the following year.

Pam Apley (p.apley@icloud.com) is the chairman of this show, and as we cannot put a price on the front of the work, she will have a master copy to be shared with titles and prices and contact information if people wish to purchase.

Work will need to be ready for pickup close to June 1. More details later.

Where is the newsletter?

Some people have been asking why they can’t find the newsletter later in the month. The reason is that on the 20th of each month, the newsletter is set up for the next month for people to post information to. If you are wanting continual information, it may be wise to just print it out when you receive it.
