Do you have any art DVD’s or Videos, that you would like to loan out to members?  I will create a lending library that members can use as a check out.  Please mark your video/DVD with your name to ensure you get them back.  First ones availabe are:

  • Landscape Studies in Acrylic by Hugh Greer
  • Create Mood and Atmosphere with Color & Value by Hugh Greer
  • Intuitive Art Poured Paintings by Betsy Dillard Stroud

Bring to next meeting and we will scan them (or you can – just open flat to copy both front and back of case) and send scanned image to Carmen (402 641 6233) and I will add it to the list.  Available at the gallery or monthly meetings.  Carmen Stineman

Membership

We gained another two members at our February meeting, giving us a total of 53.  This allows us to represent our club at the ANAC convention with 20 pieces.  Can we increase our membership even more?  We now have a permanent place to house our gallery pieces and host workshops and meetings so maybe you know someone who is looking for inspiration and is stuck at home, or maybe young family members who might like to join.  Do you have a friend that might be interested; invite them to visit.  How about you giving a gift membership to someone!

Memberships allow artists, both seasoned or beginner, to enter our local juried shows, participate in critique programs, try out new products and techniques through our monthly meetings.  Members will also be a member of ANAC (Association of Nebraska Art Clubs), which is the only state to organize all of it’s art clubs, providing newsletters, statewide exposure, and convention opportunities.

Volunteers Wanted

We are off to a good start with our gallery, but to make it a complete success, we need one or two volunteers to coordinate the publicity.  We are in place with a great location, now we need to market ourselves so people know we exist.  News articles, notices, etc.  Contact Kirk Kuenzi (402 613 5323) if this is something that might peak your interest.  It is paramount that we get someone soon. Spring show is coming up quickly.

Remember;  any guild member can work at the gallery, you do not have to be showing anything.  It is a great chance to meet people, and it is a way to participate and help out your club, the Lincoln Artists’ Guild.  If interested, contact Lynette Fast, lynettefast@gmail.com to schedule a day.

Gallery / Meeting Closings

It will be standard procedure that if Lincoln Public Schools are closed – the Gallery or monthly meetings will be closed and/or cancelled.  It will be posted on Facebook, but if you don’t check that, and Joy can’t get out a notice soon enough, this should help.  If someone would like to create a “calling tree” that would be great.  The sooner the better, you never know about Nebraska weather.

Regular business hours of the gallery are:

Wednesday – Friday, 12 to 6 ( First Friday of each month the gallery stays open till 8)

Saturday – 10 to 5
