Do We Know?

Jared Goertzen came across a painting by Alta Fieselman.  He has an article from the MONA and it said that the three paintings they are connected with were gifts of the Lincoln Artists’ Guild from the Bennett Martin Collection.  Does anyone have any information to pass on to him?  Let me know.  Carmen

Wall Gallery News

[We  are shaped and fashioned by what we love. Goethe]  This is one of my favorite quotes and many times I find it to ring true. Last Thursday morning I stopped at Against the Wall Gallery and looked more closely at some of our guild’s art hanging on the wall. I was thinking about the amount of study and learning and time put into creating and framing the art. I was also wondering what was the motivation for each artist to paint and in turn how the work may have changed the artist. And then to look at the bigger picture of how the collection of all the art has changed the wall. Also last week I caught some small bits of news of the climate summit in Poland. I find it hard to imagine that there has been so much change in even my lifetime. If you have 90 minutes there is an important documentary to watch. [H.O.P.E. What you eat matters]. You can google it and it is free. Just so you know some of it is not easy to watch. When I was in 7th grade my 4H club toured the Hormel plant in Fremont and then later my 7th grade class did a field trip to Hormel’s. So the documentary was not totally stuff  that I did not know, just the scale at which things have changed since then. Back to gallery news, First Friday for January 2019 is on the 4th. Hope to see you there. Will Rennick
