Thank You

Thank you goes out to Reida Wrenholt as she has volunteered to finish out this year’s Vice President position.  She cannot do the full 2024 term, so we need someone to volunteer to be on the ballot in January for this spot.  It involves attending business meetings once or every other month, vote on decisions brought before the board, and help out the President if so needed.  Let Carmen know if you are willing to help.

Seward 2024 Show

We are continuing our participation in Seward for their Fourth of July Show next summer.  (June – August)  The theme has already been decided, so now everyone can plan on getting a piece done that follows the theme which is…..

First Responders   Always Ready, Always There!

Our goal is one piece from everyone in LAG.  Let’s start planning!

Minutes from Sept. Meeting

Lincoln Artist’s Guild

Monthly Meeting

September 12, 2023

The president, Carmen Stineman, opened the meeting at 7:00 pm with 15 members attending. A sign-up sheet is located in the back of the room for members to sign up to help on committees.

We will not be showing at the LUX after this year and will therefor need to find a new location to hang our shows.

In anticipation of our move to another location for our monthly meetings, Carmen contacted the Capital City Church located at 7800 Holdrege Street. Good news is that they are agreeable for us to hold our meetings there along with possibly hanging some of the art pieces of members.

Carmen also suggested that members show artwork at the State Fair in Grand Island and do this as a group.

The Seward Fourth of July show was very successful with Pam Apley as chairperson. Susan Harris was awarded first place for her painting.

Reida Wrenholt suggested a change for the New Year’s party in January. It was agreed that she and Wanda Medina will be considering changing from the traditional Chinese New Years Party to a new choice of food and venue for the New Year’s party.

Many art pieces were critiqued by members writing their critique on individual papers located by the artwork. The comments were then read by Carmen and Kirk Kuenzi. A successful evening with lots of suggestions given.
