We will be trying a new format for our fourth Friday events for 2018.  We are going to have only four receptions at Out of the Box for the 2018 season.  It is our hope that we will have a greater influx of attendees if we hold a more prestigious event with more intense advertising and promotion.  We are looking at February, May, August and November.  The first event will have a member/guest scavenger hunt requiring your “team” to peruse the Out of the Box building to find clues to a secret treasure.  Your guest/guests will hopefully get more people into the gallery who may not have been before, or who may be interested in art and what we as a club may have to offer them.  Intrigued?  Plan on February at Out of the Box!

There are two positions that need to be filled for next year.  We are in need of someone to become our LAG Secretary.  Duties include coming to business meetings prior to regular meetings to take notes, write up a summary of meetings, and give to officers prior to the next months meeting and vote on motions.

We also need someone to head up the Program Committee.  There is already  a rough draft in place of possibilities for program offerings so that is already done for you. You would need to contact a presenter, put a notice in the newsletter so members know about the program and if they need to bring anything to the meeting, call and remind the presenter of the Tuesday meeting, introduce the presenter, and make sure the treasurer has a check ready if required.

This is a good organization, but we need everyone to step up and make it a GREAT one!

If you are not attending the Chinese New Year Party this year, you can send your membership renewal to Ethel Mount at 8110 Prescott Avenue, Lincoln, NE 68506.  Dues are $35 per year with an added $25 for a gallery fee.  All memberships need to be in by February 1st to be included in the new membership booklets and the Association of Nebraska Art Clubs (ANAC).  Please let us know also if you have any changes (address, email, phone) so we can get those changes in our records.  Carmen Stineman

Next change date is Tuesday January 16th from 10:00 till 12:00.  LAG members who had work in the Fall Show need to remove their art the 15th of January.  Gallery members if you are leaving your work, make sure it is included in the Blue Book.  Janet Fraley

If you are unable to be there on Tuesday the 16th you may bring art on Sat. Jan. 13th or Sunday Jan.14th.
Have paper work done BEFORE YOU BRING YOUR ARTWORK.
1. All artwork will need inventory sheet, info on the back of each painting and labels/cards for display with Title, price etc.
2. No artwork will be hung if it does not have paperwork & display cards done, all art work must have hook & eye with wire, NO SAW TOOTH hangers.
3. No more than 5 paintings total, you may bring in all new art, or leave the 5 you have there, or exchange a few; whatever works best for you.
We always look forward to seeing some new art.
