Spring Juried Show

The Annual LAG Spring Show is coming up on May 3rd, 2017, with delivery from 10-11and the pickup day is on May 31 for all non gallery members and not for sale items.   Bob Esquivel is judging for us. He is not new to our guild, as he has come and done critiques with us in the past.

THINGS TO REMEMBER:

  • not been shown previously in a LAG show
  • Framed and ready for hanging (screw eyes and wire only)
  • 3D work must provide a pedestal (if needed)
  • $5 fee for each entry
  • Must be dry
  • completed within last two years
  • must be original (no workshop or class work)
  • properly identified on back of work
  • nor for sale items allowed but must be removed at the end of show

Please be sure to enter in the show this year! In my experience, nothing has grown me more as an artist than putting my work out there to be evaluated in a juried show. I have pushed myself harder and given my very best efforts for such endeavors, and even when I didn’t get a ribbon I felt like I’d learned and accomplished much through having done it. And if you do get a ribbon–it is an amazing feeling to be validated in such a way, particularly if you started out as a hobby artist and haven’t had a lot of evaluations in an educational setting. Plus there are monetary prizes! Lastly, if you are like myself, committing to participating in a juried show or exhibition gives you a focus and goal for your work, and motivation to do it, as nothing else can. Now to take my own advice……Spring Show Chairman, Lisa Cassel
