Monthly Archives: January 2025

Membership

Welcome to our current and new members to the Lincoln Artists’ Guild. At this time we are continuing to receive dues which allows you as a member in good standing to participate in monthly meetings, participate in various shows throughout the year, be involved in a gallery, and have your membership paid to the Association of Nebraska Art Clubs, which allows you to travel to the yearly convention and participate in a statewide show and daily workshops. (must be enrolled by March 1). This will be your last newsletter if you have not renewed your membership. Carmen Stineman, LAG President

February Meeting

February meeting is Thursday February 13th at Sheridan Lutheran Church (6955 Old Cheney Rd) (enter at door 4 – northwest corner) beginning at 6:30 p.m. Room number 413.

Perspective: Fun and Simple!
This is a hands-on program about rendering objects in perspective.
We will work on 1 point, 2 point, and 3 point exercises, drawing objects isometrically, rendering ellipses , cylinders and other shapes.
Supplies needed:

  • Pencil
  • eraser
  • 12-18” ruler
  • 8 1/2 x 11 or 11 x14 paper. (low quality paper is fine.
Newsprint or any kind of paper will  work quite well.)

If you have these items, please bring them, but I’m sure I will have extra supplies.
I look forward to helping members with this sometimes-tricky part of drawing. Thanks so much!
Kirk

We will also be handing out canvas to members interested in showing in our mini show this summer.  Theme is “The 1970’s”.  More information to follow.

Gallery News

Beginning in March of 2025 we will continue participating at Gallery 9 with our own gallery experience. Jan Garvin is spearheading this venture so any questions can go to her. Let her know your intentions. Here is the information available.

  1. Sunday March 2 will be the hanging day. (need to be in place by Wednesday the 5th)
  2. Individuals will pay for space, not by the piece.
  3. Commitment will be for three months (still working on details)

Thank you to Jan Garvin for working out the logistics for us.
