Hosts for First Friday
We need people to volunteer to host our First Friday events. These occur from 6 – 8 the first Friday of each month. September, October and November will be extremely important as the LUX will be having a special First Friday event celebrating their mural artists, October will be our Fall Show and we want to be on hand at both the LUX and our gallery as we send viewers across the street as an extension of our LUX show, and November will be the start of our Veterans Show and anticipate outside artists that participated in the show to come in that evening for the kick off . Contact Kirk, or let us know at the September meeting. Janet Fraley is hosting in September.
Emerge and Splurge at the LUX
- Lux is promoting the area around University Place by creating a passport program from September 5 – September 18.
- We will be participating by stamping passports from people visiting the gallery AND the creation of a gift basket for the LUX to donate for a prize.
- Bring any small items to donate and put in the basket at the gallery prior to Change Day September 1. Items might include, notecards, jewelry items, small paintings, sketchbooks, drawing utensils, gift cards etc.
August Change Day
Change day for the month of August will be Wednesday August 4, from 11 – 1 at the LAG gallery. Bring in new pieces, along with your monthly dues. If you are leaving your current work, please let Kirk or Carmen know.
LAG Fall Show
Our Fall Show will again be held at the LUX in October. Members may bring up to three pieces, with a $10 entry fee for each. Keep in mind that all work must be family friendly. Work must have not been shown before in any of our previous show’s including the ANAC show, and have been completed within the last two years. You cannot use a piece that was completed in any class or workshop and of course must be original. Registration forms (located at the end of this newsletter) and money must be sent prior to the hanging day, no entries will be accepted the day of. Any questions may be referred to Carmen Stineman, cmstine@hotmail.com, or 402 641 6233.
New Chairs
Please take notice of the 25 new blue stacking chairs purchased for the gallery. Now you will not have to bring your own chairs to future meetings. Thank you Kirk for finding those.

LAG Mini Show
February Mini Show is to celebrate the end of winter. Everyone is anxious to get out and get going after a year of seclusion. The theme is Beach, Tropical, Summer, Sunshine, anything to get us to think summer and fun .
Bring your work for the show into the gallery by Wednesday February 3. You may bring in any time before that date during business hours of the gallery. W – F 12 – 6 and Sat. 10 – 4
- 3 entries maximum
- 12″ x 12″ (no smaller, no larger)
- $5 per entry for two and the third one is free!
- Ready to hang – no saw tooth, only wire
- No frames
- Edges must be finished (no staples showing on edges)
- Name/title/price (or) NFS on back (use the forms at bottom of this newsletter)
- Fun awards
- First Friday reception (February 5 from 4 – 8) Show will remain in the Feature Gallery the entire month of February.
- Invite your friends to drop by (of course masks will be required and no food or drink will be available at this time)
