The Illustrator’s Pencil: John Falter from Nebraska to The Saturday Evening Post  This exhibit at the Nebraska History Museum features the work of John Falter, one of America’s best known and best loved illustrators. It will be open through August 9, 2013.

The West wall of the Meadowlark Coffee Show has opened up for the month of October.  If you are able to show your work then, please let me know as soon as possible.   Otherwise,  I will open it up for non-members in the middle of August.   Art is selling, so don’t hesitate.  Call Donna 402-435-0172

The monthly meeting will not be at Captiol Christian Church for the Aug. 6th meeting.  Instead, it will be held at 8930 Whispering Wind Road where everyone will have the opportunity to draw, paint or photograph Marilyn and Thomas Jensen’s back yard.  This is a home in Wilderness Ridge area that has many trees, flowers, a lake with geese, a log cabin in the distance and home patios with steps and architecture to capture on paper.  Come try your hand at plein-aire drawing.  Bring your bug repellant, a chair and whatever material you want to work with.  Cool drinks and goodies will be provided.  The time is 6:30 p.m., Aug.6th.  Go south on 27th street and enter on Whispering Wind Blvd. (which is 9300 South 27th), turn right onto Whispering Wind Rd.  It might be a hot night but you’ll have fun with other artists while you all do “your thing” in Nebraska’s outdoors.
