Show Pickup

Here we are already, the end of April and time to pick up the Spring Show from the LUX.  You can either pick up your work Friday or Saturday, April 25th or 26th.  Some of the members will be helping move our Gallery 9 pieces on Friday, so to ease travel time, you may want to do both on Friday.  Congratulations to Lynette Fast for her Best of Show piece, “Yarrow”.  People’s Choice Award goes to Pam Apley for her fabric mosaic “Cotton Candy Season”. Another great show and the largest number of pieces for many years.  For your information, the Fall Show in 2026 will be held in February. (booking glitch).

Seward Show

Dates for the Seward Show June, July and August, and will once again be held at the Red Path Gallery in Seward on the north side of the square.  If you sell during the show (which the Red Path will handle sales with 30% commission for that service) you will be notified and are free to bring out another piece to fill in.  Entry fee is $10 for each piece / two pieces per artist.

Installation day is Saturday May 31.  Deliver to Pam your pieces (if you are not coming to Seward to hang) on Saturday May 31st in front of Hobby Lobby/Mardel parking lot at 66th and O before we travel to Seward to install the show.  Tentative open house events in Seward are:  Saturday June 7, from 2-4, Sunday July 13, from 2-4 and closing reception Sunday August 24th from 2-4 and take down art at 4.

Artwork entries must be turned in to Pam by the May LAG meeting.  If you cannot make it, make arrangements prior to the meeting with Pam.  This also includes the actual 70’s themed mini piece.  Get everything to Pam prior to the meeting in May or at the meeting.  Entries for Seward show and physical mini piece.  We need to work out hanging system for mini show.  We cannot accept anything after the May meeting on the 8th.

If you entered your piece using the new form on our blog-spot, please let Pam know, so we don’t miss someone.  We are still in the experimental state with digital entries.

ANAC entries

Congratulations to the following artists who were selected to participate in the ANAC summer convention show.  Lynette Fast, Edgar Millican, Jan Garvin, Susan Harris, Pam Apley, Will Rennick, Carmen Stineman, Mark Mesloh, Lisa Strilkivsky and Staci Romick.  I will be accepting your work for travel on Sunday June 8th in the southwest corner of the Michaels lot off of 48th and R from 1-2.  If you wish or cannot make that time, you must bring to my house or make some sort of arrangements.

Guildlines –

  • you cannot change any of your piece, no painting spots, etc.  You may change out your frame, just make sure you don’t exceed the 40″ x 40″ parameters.
  • Your piece must be packaged for travel, make sure you have your name and club name on the outside of the box.  Many people attach a small picture also.  If your piece is bulky, many people also put some sort of handle with rope, etc, but not necessary.
  • you can put two pieces in one box if they fit and are padded.
  • Make sure you have the bottom of your entry form attached to the back of your piece – the bottom of the paper that I gave each of you.  It must have your signature, and if you don’t have it, I will not hang it!
