Gallery Closure

The gallery will be closed the last week of December due to sprucing up.  ALL work (boutique, pictures, metal sculptures, etc.) needs to be gone by Thursday the 23rd of December.  Pickup at the end of the day on Wednesday or on Thursday anytime.  Kirk will be the hole plugger-upper and then anyone who wishes to help paint, get hold of him.  Make it several people and have yourselves a party.  The gallery will reopen to the public on Wednesday January 5th.  All new works, PLUS mini show entries are due on Wednesday from 11 – 1 (you will need to fill out new inventory sheets plus pay your gallery dues)

Food for Thought

New year, new challenges.  As members of LAG, we always seek input and suggestions on how to improve our organization.  Here are some areas that we would like your input on.  You may bring your ideas or thoughts up at our regular meetings, or just drop a note to one of the officers.

Change day at the gallery:  Is it too difficult to get work to the gallery on the weekday from 11 – 1?  If you work, does this limit you from participating in the gallery?  Would you participate if we had an evening drop off time OR an all day weekday time OR a Saturday time?

Awards at shows:  Rosette ribbons? yah or nay?  monetary awards:  yah or nay?  People’s choice award – some discussion has been put forth about “stuffing the ballot box” when the show is unattended at the LUX.

Monthly programs:  what do you want to see in the way of programs?  If you have a specific presenter / program that you have seen before and want to bring them in, let an officer know.

Sponsorships:  We are going to invest in color advertising cards to go out to businesses – do you know of any corporation/business/etc. that YOU can solicit funding from which will be printed on all public information we send out?

Helping out your organization:  we would like all members to add their name to the list of “I can help” filling in area/areas where you can be of service.  Not organize or be chairman, but just help out, with suggestions, leg work, computer stuff, etc.  Every committee needs a task force behind it.   Be watching for THE LIST!

Holiday Boutique

All LAG members, you have until Dec. 15 to bring in boutique items.  There are some beautiful things in now, but could always use more.  If you bring in something, you do need to put in time hosting in the gallery.

Member News

Joyce Jacobs had a stroke about 2 weeks ago. She is doing well but it will be a long haul.  Joyce has 2 tumors and the doctors have decided to shrink them using a series of treatments.  Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.  She really enjoyed the get well cards and doodles that members have been sending her.  She can always use more, so if you create one or several, drop them off to the gallery or send to her, we will get them delivered to Joyce.  (1620 Twin Ridge Road, Lincoln, NE 68506)

Thank you guild members!!

LAG Secretary position

We are still seeking someone to take over the Secretary job for LAG.  PLEASE consider putting your name on the ballot in January.  This is not a hard job; take notes at the business meeting, send out several snail mail newsletters and send cards to members when appropriate.  Contact Kirk Kuenze.

New Address

Long time member of LAG, Myrna Baade is moving to Omaha where she and Don will be closer to family.  Her new address is

Heritage of Legacy

2961 South 169th St Plaza

Omaha, NE  68130

402 934 2999

Myrna has qualified to become an Honorary Member of LAG and we hope to see her at many of our events.

Gallery Change Day

Tuesday November 30 will be the monthly change day.  11 – 1.  For one month and $40 you can fill up a space 4×4, put in some time sitting at the gallery, and selling without any commission taken out.  If you have a single picture, (18 x 24 approx) you can show for one month for $10; again, putting in some time at the gallery and selling without any commission taken out.  This is a great time to put your toe in the water so to speak, with our Holiday Boutique going on.  Starting in January we will be exploring putting gallery works on the web and selling that way in addition to just through the walk-in gallery experience.

New Year Party

Hope everyone can attend our new year party. LAG members and their significant others are invited. If you know of someone interested in becoming a new member, they are most welcome to attend also.

Dues will be collected for the 2022 year, along with payment of the evening meal, as you enter. We are having Hy Vee cater the event with a “Slider Bar”. Make your own hamburger from a selection of three different kinds of meat, along with baked beans, two sides and burger fixings. Cost is $13 a person.

This is a BYOB event.

We will be taking nominations and voting for new 2022 LAG officers.

Fun and games with Art Jeopardy and Bunco.

We will finish off the night with “Build Your Own Sundae” with ingredients furnished by the LAG offficers.
