JULY PROGRAMS

Last month Angelo Carroll, President of the Lincoln Camera Club, shared lots of information on photography at the monthly meeting. It was very interesting to hear how many pictures she takes at one sitting till she gets the picture she wants.  She has sat for more than 12 hours to capture just the right scene and lighting in her camera’s eye.. It takes patience just as we members need when developing a painting..  She really stressed the importance of showing ones art and not letting them  sit in a closet.  Naturally, her camera is much, much better than a lot of the “point and shoot” ones, but many questions were answered for those who have better cameras.  No doubt, they will now be able to take better reference photos.

The second Friday Art Walk was July 11, and the theme was “Christmas In July”.  The reception host and hostess set up areas at Out Of The Box with revolving Christmas Carolers, toy soldiers, Christmas Jesters, along with a decorated tree.  Christmas music was playing while visitors enjoyed Christmas goodies from the decorated reception table.  It was a steady number of people all evening, and they lingered to view Sartore’s photos and members’ art.  Many commented on the nice blend of the LAG pictures along with Out Of The Box’s inventory.  The best part was a picture was spoken for along with another that was sold earlier in the week.  The evening was a success, and fellow artists became better acquainted with one another.
