Proper Hanging

As the Show Committee hung the Spring Show we experienced several problems with how wire is applied to pieces.  So to help the process we are asking you to follow these guidelines.

  1.  Do not use super thin wire, if you have this wire, please double it up to avoid cut fingers hanging heavier items.
  2. When putting in your connectors ( I don’t know the proper name-sorry) measure down 1/3 of the way from the top.  This is the optimal spot to attach the wire.  We have some almost in the middle and some very close to the top.
  3. When twisting your wire to the sides, make the wire goes straight across to the opposite side.  Do not leave any slack.  It doesn’t have to be tight, but just straight.  Several pieces came in that when hung, the wire actually stretched above the frame in the viewing area, and that is not a good look.  The committee had to rewire several pieces, which took time and trouble.

Thank you.  The LAG Show Committee
