Another new way to create an interesting picture was learned by the members at the Sept. monthly meeting.  Deb Monfelt taught everyone how to quickly and easily create a kitty cat.  After demonstrating using charcoal all over the paper she then used a kneaded eraser to lift the charcoal off as the cats face appeared.  This showed how important it is to become good at drawing so that your free hand motions have control.  She then passed out an assortment of pictures for members to use as their source to make their own pictures from.  It was a great evening of doing what everyone there likes to do.  “MAKE ART”.

The October meeting is our Critique month for the fall and Pam Hynek (ANAC Vice President) will be the artist that should be able to help you with any tips that may improve your picture before you enter it in the November juried show.  However, do bring any pictures that you would like to have critiqued as it is a good learning experience so that you can become even better at what you paint.  Your pictures can be done, framed or not framed, completed or still being worked on.  Or just come and observe and listen to Pam’s remarks.

The November meeting is going to be like a mini free workshop as Lois Smith  will explore watercolor techniques with you.  Even if your not a watercolor artist but would like to play with watercolors, this will be the time to do it.
